Frequently Asked Questions

Honest answers about how we work, what we build, and what it costs

About Working With Us

Bi·Catalyst builds software, AI integrations, and operational systems for Swiss SMEs. We work in two tracks: Tech & AI Engineering (custom software, workflow automation, AI integration) and Structured Operations (process optimisation, admin structure, executive coordination). Everything we deliver is built to hand over — no lock-in.

Swiss companies with 10–100 employees in manufacturing, B2B services, logistics, and fintech. Our clients are typically founders, managing directors, or operations leads who need reliable systems — not another tool to babysit.

Manufacturing, B2B services, logistics, and fintech. We specialise in operations-heavy companies where automation and systematic processes have the highest ROI.

We are a focused consultancy, not a solo operator or a 200-person agency. Every engagement is led by a senior specialist. We deliver weekly, document everything, and build systems your team can own. No vendor dependency.

About AI and Operations

Django and Python for backends, Next.js and React for frontends, Celery and Redis for async processing, and production-grade AI tools including OpenAI, Anthropic, and open-source models. We pick what fits — not what is trendy.

Yes. We connect AI models to your existing workflows — document processing, customer communication, internal knowledge bases, quality control. Every integration ships with guardrails, monitoring, and a documented handover.

Custom. We build exactly what your operations need — no bloated SaaS, no unnecessary features. If an existing tool already solves your problem, we will tell you instead of building something new.

All data stays in Swiss or EU-hosted infrastructure. We follow OWASP security practices, support on-premise deployments when required, and sign NDAs as standard. Swiss data protection (nDSG) and GDPR compliance are built in from day one.

About Structured Operations

Execution support for the operational tasks that pile up on a founder's desk — finance admin, communication follow-through, website updates, and day-to-day coordination. We structure these into documented routines your team follows without founder involvement.

Core hours are Monday to Friday, typically covering the afternoon second shift (after 14:00). Exact scheduling adapts to your operational rhythm.

Every task is documented in a shared system. You see what was done, what is pending, and what needs your decision. Weekly summaries keep you in the loop without micromanaging.

About Getting Started

Book a free 30-minute discovery call. We discuss your situation, identify quick wins, and propose a concrete first step — usually a one-week operations diagnostic.

First deliverables within one week. A complete workflow automation or MVP typically takes 4–8 weeks. Structured Operations engagements start immediately after onboarding.

Weekly delivery updates, async communication via your preferred channel (Slack, Teams, email), and a documented project board. No surprise invoices, no disappearing acts.

About Pricing and Scope

Project-based or monthly retainer, depending on scope. Tech & AI projects are scoped with a fixed-price diagnostic first. Structured Operations runs on a predictable monthly retainer. No hourly billing surprises.

Yes. The 30-minute discovery call is free and comes with no obligation. We will tell you honestly whether we are the right fit.

Flexible. Monthly retainers can be paused or cancelled with 30 days notice. Project contracts are milestone-based with clear deliverables. No long-term lock-in.
